Ready to reclaim your life and rediscover genuine connection?
Meet Joon Lee - Digital Wellbeing & Screen Overuse Therapist
Online Therapy in Seattle & across Washington State
Remember life before the constant digital pull? When thoughts, social gatherings, and following through on plans didn't compete with the distraction of your screen?
These moments don't have to remain distant memories.
MY APPROACH
This is where you can pause, reconnect with yourself, and remember what matters beyond the screen.
I'm Joon, and I work with people who know there's more to life than what's happening on their screens but find themselves stuck in patterns of digital disconnection.
My approach goes beyond screen habits to address deeper needs: the search for meaning, managing emotional overwhelm, navigating ADHD or depression, and rebuilding authentic connection in a digital world.
Unlike one-size-fits-all "digital detox" approaches, I focus on understanding what your screen use is actually fulfilling for you. There's always a reason we turn to devices—whether escaping uncomfortable feelings, seeking connection, or trying to feel productive.
Together, we'll develop personalized strategies to manage emotions, rediscover motivation, create meaningful connections, and build a life where technology serves you, not the other way around.
Why work with me?
I understand the complex relationship between screen use and our emotional lives because I’ve lived it
I understand the complex relationship between screen use and emotional wellbeing because I've lived it. From high school through college, I struggled with what many would call screen addiction - a gaming habit that gradually disconnected me from myself and others.
I know the pull of digital worlds and what it's like to say "just five minutes" only to look up and realize hours have passed. Through developing awareness of my underlying needs, creating boundaries, and reconnecting with what truly matters, I found my way back to balance and meaning.
This personal experience, combined with my professional training in screen overuse, anxiety, depression, and ADHD, allows me to offer both empathy and effective strategies. When we work together, you're getting someone who has navigated this terrain and found a path forward.

Healing isn’t linear—it’s messy, imperfect, and slow.
And that’s okay.
True growth takes time.
Your journey is unique, and so is our work together.
I draw from multiple therapeutic approaches, carefully selecting and combining techniques based on what will best support your specific needs and goals. Here are some of the evidence-based methods I often integrate into our sessions:
My Methods
-
We'll identify the automatic thought patterns that lead to mindless scrolling and develop practical strategies to interrupt these cycles. Together, we'll build awareness of your digital triggers and create new habits that reconnect you with what truly matters.
-
We'll clarify your core values and strengthen your ability to tolerate discomfort without escaping to screens. This approach helps you make choices aligned with your deeper purpose rather than momentary habits, gradually building a life that reflects what truly matters.
-
When emotions become overwhelming and screens seem like the only escape, we'll develop practical techniques to recognize, name, and ride out feelings without digital numbing. You'll gain emotional freedom as you learn to experience the full range of your emotions without needing technology to buffer them away.
-
Customized mindfulness practices can help rebuild your scattered attention and strengthen your ability to resist digital impulses. I'll help you discover techniques tailored to your unique mind—whether traditional meditation has failed you before or you're entirely new to the practice.
